抄録: This case study aims to reconsider what kind of effects the "value" (valeur) has on adolescent children, based on Sartre's elucidation of the concept of "For-Itself " (pour-soi). A sixteen-year-old-boy lives with a care worker and his wife in a small-scale children's welfare institution for the rehabilitation of juvenile delinquents. Sometimes, he states contradictory values, at other times he tries to realize his value just as the value indicates. According to Sartre, our consciousnesses as For-Itself are, typically in the adolescence, being what it is not and not being what it is ; and human beings project themselves for the value to recover the lack which we must be. However this boy tries to become no-lack-being in the present in order to avoid feeling "anguish" (angoisse) which we feel when we notice that it is only we ourselves who exist the value. Through this study, it is turned out that the care worker supports such a being of his in order to be toward For-Itself by permitting him to be temporarily as "In-Itself " (en-soi).
