抄録: Based on a case study conducted over an year and eight months, this study tries to gain practical insights into the difficulties of bringing about a collaborative effort among practitioners with conflicting opinions towards their practices. Two counselors, the subjects of this study, had conflicting clinical perspectives, and thus, opposing opinions towards their practices. This case study focuses on the reduction, through actual practice, of their initial discomfort due to their differing opinions, and tries to reveal factors enabling their transformation in a reciprocal manner by familiarizing with each other's practice. It is then argued that their reciprocal transformation was enabled by "dwelling in" each other's practice and perspectives through the suspension of their negative emotions and the development of a caring relationship. This study defines the process of "dwelling in" each other as "mutual adaptation, " and suggests that "mutual adaptation" is a key factor for effective collaboration among conflicting practitioners. Therefore, it is concluded that in order to bring about collaboration among practitioners with conflicting opinions, it is crucial to enable the process of "mutual adaptation" with suspending negative emotions and caring for and "dwelling in" each other.
