抄録: There are two types of visual acuity-distant and near vision visual acuity. We need distant vision visual acuity when we read letters on white board in classrooms. On the other hand, we need near vision visual acuity when we read textbooks, notebooks and letters on computer screens. However, only distant vision visual acuity tests as stipulated in the "Report of the School Health Statistics". As a result, near vision visual acuity tests is not a typical part of health research in public schools. We would like to introduce near vision visual acuity tests into health research in schools. We gathered fundamental data about near vision visual acuity in children and their rate of study. We analyzed this in order to find out the relationships between children's visual acuity and their scores. Concretely, we examined near vision visual acuity tests of the seventh grade students and took a survey of their declining vision. As a result, we found that students whose near vision visual acuity was "under 1.0" had some problems studying efficiently. "Skip lines or letters when they read books", "Lose tracks of where they were reading", "Can't read computer screens clearly", "Double vision". In addition to this, we also found out that the group of the students whose near vision visual acuity was "under 1.0" don't study efficiently. More specifically, students need "over 1.0" to achieve greater study efficiency.
