抄録: The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of supervisor in the curriculum development by the municipalboard of education based on the case study of the educational continuity from primary through early secondary levels of Shinagawa City. The curriculum development in Shinagawa was to have tried to catch from the aspect of the educational continuity from primary through early secondary levels of 9 years based on the course of study in the country based on the current state of children in Shinagawa. The development of this education curriculum was advanced around three "Ba" of "Pilot school for research purposes", "Curriculum Working Group", and "Curriculum Making Committees"// The role of supervisor first receives the superintendent of education's instruction, and has been bearing the concept-making of the educational continuity from primary through early secondary levels. And, the supervisor specified the pilot school for research purposes, tried for the support of the maintenance of the system of research promotion etc. and the management such as the curriculum making committees, and had promoted the new curriculum-making by the school and the teacher. The supervisor made guidelines, the sub-textbook, the teaching material, and the guidance book at the same time as being able to do the new curriculum. The training workshop to the teacher had been held before it introduced it. The revision work that corresponds to the new course of study is being done now. These are roles only of the supervisor who is rich the educational experience and have leadership in the staff of the board of education secretariat.
