抄録: This study presented the development and validation of two types of indecies of empathy for the grade school children : Story Test and questionnaire measure. Subjects were 250 fifth graders. An emotionally loadened story (about 4000 letters) was vocally presented to subjects and they were asked several questions. In the Story Test, the number of the emotional scenes the child selected as impressive and the number of affect-matches like Picture-Story measures were conceptualized as empathy scores. The questionnaire was factor analyzed and found two factors : empathic concern and tendency to emotional involvement. Correlations testing the relationships of these indecies of empathy to the scores of altruism and emotionality which were rated by peers, formed the construct validation. The measures demonstrated preliminaly construct validity.
