抄録: In a theory-based concept model, the theory is often regarded as implicit. To make the theory explicit, this paper discussed the unexplored domain of study i. e. the implicit personalty theory. In the study by Medin et al. (1987), sorting-tasks were used to evaluate the conditions under which people prefer to construct categories according to family resemblance principles. They were the typical practices of defining family resemblance in terms of independent sets of matching and mismatching values of personality traits. They also explored the idea that interproperty relationships rather than independent personality traits served to organize categories. But according to the study of Yamaguchi (1991) using the Grid-Technique, some subjects with low cognitive complexity persisted in sorting on the basis of family resemblance principles, and the others with high cognitive complexity persisted in a single dimension sorting. Sorting personality traits on the basis of family resemblance principles, unidimension principles, and other principles were significantly correlated with an aspect of an implicit personality theory; cognitive complexity. The results suggest that a theory-based concept model is closely related to the implicit personality theory measured by the Grid Technique.
