抄録: In studying the distribution of earthquakes, which took place in the Kwanto district during 1914-1921, the late Prof. Omori pointed out four distinct seismic zones or areas which may be assumed to exist there; namely, the Boso peninsula, the Kinu-gawa basin, the Sagami district (including the Sagami Bay) and the seabottom off the coast of the provinces of Hitati and Iwaki. (Fig. 1.) But his statistics was, on one hand, based on observations made in an epoch of duration too short for the purpose of revealing the seismic zones in general, while, on the other hand, the number of earthquakes taken into consideration was too small and the location of the epicentres rather inaccurate, so that it was hopeless to discover any special character of each zone on that basis.
