On the basis of an eddy viscosity assumption compatible with the two-layer model (wall and defect layers) of the turbulent boundary layer, a method of calculating various characteristics of the wave boundary layer, such as the friction coefficient, universal profiles of the stress and velocity in the defect layer have been developed. Numerical results show that amplitude and phase of the friction coefficient increase with the decrease of the amplitude of the reference velocity and/or the period of wave. The criteria for the smooth-rough and laminar-turbulent transitions are also suggested from the analogy to the case of steady flow. Most of the experimental data on the friction coefficint and the. velocity profile in a wave boundary layer seem to be favorably compared with the prediction derived from the present model.|水粒子の周期運動によって水底に生ずる乱流境界層に関して,前論文(梶浦,1964)では,摩擦層が水面に及ぶ様な周期の長い波の場合を主として取扱ったが,ここでは境界層厚が水深にくらべて小さい場合を考える.
