What relation can we find between this essay and his \"Some Thoughts concerning Education\" (1693)? In this paper, I have attempted to answer this question by analysing the logic concerning the formation of \u0027Habit\u0027 in these two essays. In \"Of the Conduct of the Understanding\", Locke discussed \u0027Conduct\u0027 which had a double meaning to him-\u0027Direct\u0027 (to direct, or direction) and \u0027Behave\u0027 (to behave, or behavior)-as the \u0027manner\u0027 or \u0027behavior\u0027 of Uuderstanding, based on his logic of \"body→mind\" analogy. In this sense this essay may be characterized as one of the \"courtesy\" or \"civility\" books. And in \"Some Thoughts Concering Education\" just as a \"courtesy\" book, Locke had discussed the very \u0027conduct\u0027 such as the \u0027manner\u0027 or \u0027civility\u0027 of the childern. Accordingly, Locke\u0027s both essays had one same theme, namely the formation of \u0027Habit of conduct\u0027. 内容記述 | Locke's later essay entitled "Of the Conduct of the Understanding" (1697) can be read as an educational writing. What relation can we find between this essay and his "Some Thoughts concerning Education" (1693)? In this paper, I have attempted to answer this question by analysing the logic concerning the formation of 'Habit' in these two essays. In "Of the Conduct of the Understanding", Locke discussed 'Conduct' which had a double meaning to him-'Direct' (to direct, or direction) and 'Behave' (to behave, or behavior)-as the 'manner' or 'behavior' of Uuderstanding, based on his logic of "body→mind" analogy. In this sense this essay may be characterized as one of the "courtesy" or "civility" books. And in "Some Thoughts Concering Education" just as a "courtesy" book, Locke had discussed the very 'conduct' such as the 'manner' or 'civility' of the childern.
