Highly sensitive measurements of resistivity variations have been carried out at the Aburatsubo Geophysical Observatory in Kanagawa prefecture, in central Japan, since 1968. The following observations were reported by Yamazaki (1980b, 1983), based on the results obtained during the period from 1968 to 1982. (1) There are variations at tidal frequencies. The apparent correlation leads to the interpretation that resistivity changes of 10-4 correlate with the Earth's strain of 10-7 due to tidal loading.
