In the preceding paper, we studied the horizontal vibration amplitudes of a point near a beam of an actual single-storied wooden building, and ascertained that the brace-struts and the principal column fitted to a wooden building are effective both in reducing the resonance amplitudes and in increasing the resonance frequency. In the present case, we studied the horizontal vibration amplitudes of two points on the floor of the same building. From the results of the present investigation, we found that when a broad house with no vertical member inside is subjected to horizontal forced vibrations, the amplitudes are maximum mostly in the middle part of the broad side. Thus, our previons mathematical results with respect to the three-dimensional vibrations of a broad house were confirmed experimentally. The results of the present investigation explained to some extent the damage to farm houses in the Nagano earthquake of July 13, 1941.
