The purpose of this research is to give an overview of research aiming at concept acquisition targeting social events in educational psychology and social studies education. In the case of social events, the term “social recognition” is often used instead of “concept”. For this reason, I firstly reviewed the definitions of “concept” and “social recognition” used in educational psychology and social studies education, and studied commonalities and differences between terms. In addition, I analyzed the practice done in educational psychology and social studies education.
