The Japanese school of Bangkok is the first Japanese school after World War Ⅱ. The origin of the school is the one founded in 1926, but it was closed because of the defeat in the war. Most Japanese people were made to return to Japan after the war, but some people began to go back to Thailand in a few years. In 1956, the school was reconstructed with the cooperation of permanent residents, expatriate employees, and the embassy in Bangkok. This paper reviews the process of the reconstruction of the school, focusing on the Japanese Association in Thailand. Then, it is revealed why it was able to be founded so early and how it contributed to the development of Japanese educational institutions overseas.
