In all, 339 Japanese articles published between 1989 and 2019 were collected and summarized from three points of view: 1)affects toward learning, 2)affects cultivated during learning, and 3)assessing the affective domain in learning. The review revealed the following points. First, few longitudinal studies have been conducted on students’ affects in learning. Second, it is unclear how previous studies dealt with affects expressed by students cultivated in learning.
