To this end, an online questionnaire survey was administered on a national scale. The results showed that during the pandemic, more than 70% of the teachers in all categories experienced emotional exhaustion to the extent of burnout, which is at a higher level than in conventional circumstances. Furthermore, particular stressors experienced by teachers during the pandemic were identified. The results showed that the pandemic has impelled many teachers to reexamine their existing educational philosophies. In particular, responses to the questionnaire survey and narratives obtained from interviews were used to derive categories pertaining to this reexamination.
