A case analysis of Middlebury College illustrates two characteristics of the development of community engagement across campus: 1) close collaboration that draws on the strengths and assets of each department located within “academic affairs” makes diverse initiatives visible and intentionally positions them under the umbrella of community engagement, supporting their development across the institution.
