Further, because Shen Yue 沈約, following the Ch‘un-ch‘iu 春秋, considered that the aim of a history should be praise and censure, he maintained that it should follow the straightforward style of the Southern historian Dong Hu 董狐. But in the greater part of his preface and in his discussion of history he sets forth arguments for the legitimization of the “Shen clan of Wuxing 呉興,” and his work displays the character of a “history” of the aristocracy that had developed as a form of family scholarship. / Shen Yue considered the sine qua non for the aristocracy to lie in the possession of both titular rank, which guaranteed the hereditary transmission of high rank under an aristocracy acting as a state-sanctioned class system, and cultural values, which served as the basis for the continuing existence of aristocrats as social beings. But aristocrats, who should, properly speaking, have been responsible for governance, did not possess the ability to govern, and court favourites carried out administrative tasks under the sovereign, leading to a loss of support for the Liu Song. In order to forestall this, it was necessary to present the modus vivendi of the aristocracy as a model. / As the basis for the continuing existence of aristocrats as social beings, Shen Yue placed Confucianism at the root and sought for them a monopoly on cultural values associated with the three teachings (Confucianism, Buddhism, and Daoism) and the four branches of learning (metaphysics, Confucianism, literature, and history), and in order for them to be able to continue to hold titular rank as aristocrats under an aristocracy acting as a state-sanctioned class system, he also used the concept of “wisdom” to show the importance of the art of being able to survive amongst sovereigns and other power-holders. This represented Shen Yue’s model for aristocrats. / Further, by affirming on the one hand the change in dynasty but also placing great value on loyalty to the sovereign, Shen Yue found a compromise between the concept of “loyalty” and acceptance of changes in dynasty. On the basis of “wisdom,” he presented a model for how to live as an aristocrat in the political circumstances of the Southern Dynasties, where changes in dynasty occurred regularly. / And in an international situation in which a powerful country of foreign peoples loomed to the north, Shen Yue presented a new worldview that differed from China’s hitherto worldview and abandoned the Confucian ideal of “great unity.” In the view of history presented in Shen Yue’s Songshu, it was not just the acceptance of dynastic change by means of the concept of “loyalty,” the use of the concept of “all under heaven” (tianxia 天下) to refer only to Jiangnan, and the abandonment of “grand unity” that were characteristic of the Southern Dynasties. As well, not only a monopoly on cultural values but also the way in which he presented a model for aristocrats specific to the Southern Dynasties that equated the art of living amongst power-holders with “wisdom” gave expression to Shen Yue’s mentality characteristic of the Southern Dynasties.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_4_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15083/0002003220","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_4_publisher_20":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"東京大学東洋文化研究所","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"},{"subitem_publisher":"Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia, The University of Tokyo","subitem_publisher_language":"en"}]},"item_4_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00170926","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_4_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"05638089","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_4_text_4":{"attribute_name":"著者所属","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_language":"ja","subitem_text_value":"早稲田大学文学学術院"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorAffiliations":[{"affiliationNames":[{"affiliationName":"早稲田大学","affiliationNameLang":"ja"}]}],"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"渡邉, 義浩","creatorNameLang":"ja"},{"creatorName":"WATANABE, Yoshihiro","creatorNameLang":"en"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2022-02-15"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"ioc178002.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"805.5 KB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"objectType":"fulltext","url":"https://repository.dl.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/record/2003220/files/ioc178002.pdf"},"version_id":"2f08772d-c0cb-4ebb-8119-9d2d502cd6cf"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"沈約『宋書』と南朝意識","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"沈約『宋書』と南朝意識","subitem_title_language":"ja"},{"subitem_title":"Shen Yue’s Songshu and His Mentality Characteristic of the Southern Dynasties","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"4","owner":"1","path":["1644913380502","1644912122923"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2022-02-15"},"publish_date":"2022-02-15","publish_status":"0","recid":"2003220","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["沈約『宋書』と南朝意識"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2022-12-19T05:31:16.826846+00:00"}
