Based on a review of the history of psychotherapy in China, this paper summarizes related research on psychotherapy localization in Chinese culture and draws the following two conclusions. 1. The majority of the early studies are based on the assumption that there are clear cultural boundaries, and the localization problem is discussed from an elitist perspective. Ignored the bottom-up form's localization process. 2. In order to resolve the dilemma of 1, more detailed and in-depth research and investigation centered on front-line psychological counselors or therapists is required.
