Morocco is an Arab monarchy characterized by historical “continuity” and “stability.” Mohammed VI has undertaken many political and social reforms, one of which is the improvement in the status of women. Female royals who began being active in the public sphere became representatives of female leaders in their society. Princess Salma, the first princess consort to emerge publicly, was the most prominent figure during this transition period of the status of women. However, there are risks related to open-minded royals, such as damaging the royal family’s image. Currently, the media reports divorce cases in the royal family and discord among royals.
