Even in the grand ceremony of a once-in-a-lifetime event like a wedding, while traditional culture has been preserved for a long time, Western influences gradually became evident in wedding preparations. Previous studies have provided an overview of changes in the types and forms of wedding attire in modern times, specifically noting the transition from the traditional 'shiro-muku' (white bridal kimono) to black-based wedding attire. These studies have primarily focused on changes in wedding attire within the realm of traditional Japanese clothing. Nevertheless, with the increasing Westernization of Japanese wedding attire, the challenge lies in the lack of discussion about specific changes and their evolution.\nThis paper aims to tackle this issue by focusing mainly on the bride's hairstyle and wedding attire, providing a concrete examination of the changes that have occurred in modern Japanese wedding attire and revealing the realities of its trends and transformations.\nNext, let's summarize the research findings.In particular, this paper has identified that the trends and transformations in modern Japanese wedding attire, focusing on aspects such as the 'bride's hairstyle' and the 'length of sleeves,' initiated early in this context.\nIt is revealed that brides with Western-style bundled hair were first introduced in newspaper articles in the 1910s. From the 1920s onwards, the abandonment of the traditional 'kakushi' and criticism of the Japanese hairstyle, represented by the 'takashimada,' led to an intense competition between the traditional Japanese hairstyle and the bundled hair as the preferred bridal hairstyle. During the same period, from the 1910s onwards, there was a series of criticisms against 'furisode,' and voices recommending the use of 'tomesode' or modified versions began to emerge.\nFurthermore, in the overall context, it becomes apparent that, under the traditional notion of adhering to tradition, a trend emerged to emphasize practical and economic elements. In other words, there was a demand for bridal attire that was both lavish and economically sensible.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_4_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15083/0002009765","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_4_publisher_20":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"東京大学東洋文化研究所","subitem_publisher_language":"ja"},{"subitem_publisher":"Institute for Advanced Studies on Asia, The University of Tokyo","subitem_publisher_language":"en"}]},"item_4_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00170926","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_4_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"05638089","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"劉, 玲芳","creatorNameLang":"ja"},{"creatorName":"LIU, Lingfang","creatorNameLang":"en"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_access","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2024-03-28"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"ioc185009.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"1009.7KB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"objectType":"fulltext","url":"https://repository.dl.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/record/2009765/files/ioc185009.pdf"},"version_id":"a74c95e5-ec33-4b54-9d01-db3221d632b2"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"jpn"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"近代日本の婚礼衣裳における流行と変容 : 花嫁の髪型・式服をめぐって","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"近代日本の婚礼衣裳における流行と変容 : 花嫁の髪型・式服をめぐって","subitem_title_language":"ja"},{"subitem_title":"Evolution and Transformation of Bridal Attire in Modern Japan : Exploring Bridal Hairstyles and Wedding Garments","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"4","owner":"18","path":["1711605028564","1711605142657"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2024-03-28"},"publish_date":"2024-03-28","publish_status":"0","recid":"2009765","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["近代日本の婚礼衣裳における流行と変容 : 花嫁の髪型・式服をめぐって"],"weko_creator_id":"18","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2024-03-28T09:16:43.980787+00:00"}
