However, as supporters are not experts and the youth have various socio-emotional problems, it is assumed that there are many situations where diagonal relationships do not function. This paper focuses on cases where the diagonal relationship, which has been overlooked until now, becomes dysfunctional. Fieldwork was carried out on the interactions between the researcher herself and the youth, and the field notes were analyzed. The results showed that some youths were better at seeking help from the researcher and drawing the support they expected, while others were not.
