Thereafter, succession with natural seed supply from the surroundings and artificial seeding with/without soil dressing has been observed. In this study, successions after 14 years from the reclamation were surveyed. The survey was carried out based on previous surveys from 1995 to 2002. From the results, tree establishment and growth were found to have been inhibited in plots with additional soil and seeding at the early stage. However, stand structure after 14 years showed no significant difference between plots with or without additional soil. Salix udensis, which emerged in large numbers in 1995, had been replaced by Alnus firma in 2002 and then replaced by Euptelea polyandra in 2009. This suggests that succession proceeds in the order of Salix udensis, Alnus firma, and Euptelea polyandra.
