Since 1909 Tokyo City's water resource conservation forest has been managed primarily for the conservation of water resources. Today, forest management is faced with so-called Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) which harmonizes both timber production and environmental conservation. Tokyo City's water resource conservation forest has a long experience in management taking into consideration water resource conservation and timber production.
