Though no significant difference was found among the rates of transpiration in calm air, transpiration rates of them increased when they were exposed to artificial wind and the increase was the highest in those grown under the \"wet\" conditions and the lowest in those under the \"dry\" conditions. Water contents of needles lined up in the same order as the increase of transpiration by wind, both in the newly developped ones and in those already had developed in the previous season.
