However, there are disagreements on which traits should be emphasized as the core value to define them. In the description of Indo-European languages, traditional analyses emphasize the importance of (A) case markings, and (B) agreements with the predicates, in contrast to this, non-canonical subject theory propagators emphasize the importance of (C) syntactic features. In the research of Modern Standard Arabic, there have been only traditional analyses that emphasize the importance of (A) case markings, and (B) agreements with the predicates. That is because there have been no claims of non-canonical subject phenomena in MSA. Abdul-Raof (1998) claims that the most important characteristic of subjects in MSA is agreement with the predicates. Based on this point of view, Parkinson (2008) says that the subject of yumkinu \"be possible\" is verbal nouns or complement clauses. However, My research shows that the claim that MSA has no non-canonical subjects is not appropriate. In my research using the syntactic features, subjects of yumkinu constructions are doers rather than verbal nouns or complement clauses.
