The author first describes syntactic features of this aspectual usage of the preposition in Tunisian Arabic, which is the one of the dialects that have developed this usage most. Further description of its meaning reveals that the iterativity of the aspectual fi:- correlates with the punctuality of verbs on the one hand, the continuity correlates with non-punctuality of verbs on the other, and that the most basic meaning of this usage is continuous-iterative rather than habitual.
