Stems ending in a vowel 2. Stems ending in a palatal consonant 3. Stems ending in /n/ 4. Stems ending in a consonant other than the above//The suffix /-lkAn/ 'having ...'shows complex but clearly conditioned allomorphy. When it is added to a stem ending in a vowel, the alternant /-lkAn/ occurs. When it is added to a stem ending in a consonant, the following processes are invoked in order to avoid undesirable consonant clusters. After a stem ending in a palatal consonant, the allomorph /-IlkAn/ occurs with the epenthetic vowel /I/. Stems ending in /n/ occur, with a few exceptions, without the final /n/, and the allomorph /-lkAn/ is attached to the stem-final vowel. Stems ending in a consonant other than those mentioned take the allomorph /-AlkAn/ with the epenthetic vowel /A/. However, unpredicted forms occur when it is added to cardinal numerals. For example, when the suffix is attached to /emen/ \"l\", the stem becomes an unexpected form /emi-lken/, which looks similar to the corresponding ordinal numeral /emis/.
