I analyzed Yayoi potteries excavated at 5 sites in Tokyo and Kanagawa prefectures by this method. The following was clarified by this research. In the early Yoyoi period, seeds of millet such as foxtail millet (Setaria itarica) and common millet (Panicum miliaceum) account for a large amount of the whole. In the late middle Yayoi period, the percentage of seeds of rice (Oryza sativa) is in the rage of 70 to 80 percent, meanwhile seeds of millet are few. In the late Yayoi period, on the one hand rice are in a large majority in sites that produce only local pottery in the west side of Tokyo Bay, on the other hand there are relatively a lot of millet in sites that produce the Chokojibara type pottery. It is expected that people who used the Chokojibara type pottery had the different method of utilization of cultivated plants from the one that people used only local pottery.
