This paper introduces and analyzes the contents of a collection of historical materials called \"the Anesaki Genealogy,\" one of several sections of historical material left by Anesaki, in order to demonstrate the social standpoint the Anesaki family before modernization, in the late Tokugawa period. The Genealogy consists of the following : a scroll describing the anniversary of an ancestor's death, two scrolls addressed to relatives and personal acquaintances of the Anesaki family (\"letters from Jimyo-in\" and \"the relative documents\"), a scroll entitled \"old documents of the family,\" and several other written records. Through an analysis of the above items, the following points regarding the Anesaki family can be confirmed. (1) The heads of the Anesaki family were for generations painters associated with the head priest of Bukkoji-temple, as Masaharu Anesaki asserted in his autobiography. As cases of successions of sons-in-law were seen, it can be concluded that the Anesaki family allowed for these successions to in order fulfilling hereditary duties. (2) In the late Tokugawa period, the Anesaki family kept company with people who belonged to the lower ranks of the samurai class and with members of the court aristocracy. (3) From an analysis of the \"the old documents of the family,\" it can be shown that some of the heads of the family served not only as painters, but also held lower positions at Bukkoji-temple.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_4_full_name_3":{"attribute_name":"著者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"67080","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}],"names":[{"name":"KANEKO, Nao"}]},{"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"67081","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}],"names":[{"name":"SOBE, Tamayo"}]}]},"item_4_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15083/00030563","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_4_publisher_20":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"東京大学文学部宗教学研究室"}]},"item_4_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"02896400","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_4_subject_15":{"attribute_name":"日本十進分類法","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"160","subitem_subject_scheme":"NDC"}]},"item_4_text_21":{"attribute_name":"出版者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Department of Religious Studies.
