Interviews with five overseas adoptees were carried out, taking as a framework two aspects of the identity theory of E. Ｈ . Ericsson: 1) the mutual regulation between the historical perspective and the social and cultural background, and 2) the incorporation of the “perspective of others” into the “point of view of the self” of the subject.
