The one is of Kumamoto, the other of Niigata. Both these cases inflicted very serious damages for living surroundings of Japanese citizens, especially of fishermen who have lived there. Accordingly, Minamata disease cases have the meaning of very serious fisheries problems. In Japan, there is a special high-school education about fisheries. The education includes Minamata disease cases in curriculum./ Today, the high-school of fisheries not only poses knowledge about marine technologies and sciences, but also begins to present a lot of problems of earth environment. The Minamata disease is explained as the origin of environmental problem in such education. But Japanese people have recognized that disease as the beginning of pollutions in Japan after the World WarⅡ. That is, we find that the word “Pollution” is replaced with “Environment” without any discussions. /　This article, at first, presents fisheries politics about Minamata disease cases. Second phase of this research examines textbooks of fisheries education in high-school. Some textbooks treat Minamata disease cases. The mention of this matter, however, has decreased in these days.
