In this paper, we summarize the results of our seismological analyses of shear-wave splitting and injection-induced earthquakes on the basis of seismic observations at active faults. The shear-wave splitting observations performed on the fracture zone of the 2000 Western Tottori, Japan, earthquake revealed the fracture distribution inside the fracture zone, causing about 1% anisotropy. We can detect the detailed fracture distribution inside a fracture zone through shear-wave splitting observations with a dense (less than several kilometers in interval) seismic array set on and along the fracture zone. The analysis of earthquakes induced by water injection experiments at the Nojima fault, Japan, depicted that the fracture zone is permeable and has a low coefficient of friction immediately after the mainshock. Long-term monitoring of clustered microearthquake activity at the Nojima fault revealed the heterogeneity of crustal strength. We point out that we need to clearly define “fracture zone” for each research background in discussions of fracture zones because the thickness of the fracture zone varies depending on the research method.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_4_full_name_3":{"attribute_name":"著者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"125789","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}],"names":[{"name":"田所, 敬一"}]}]},"item_4_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15083/0000032569","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_4_publisher_20":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"東京大学地震研究所"}]},"item_4_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AN00162258","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_4_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"00408972","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_4_subject_15":{"attribute_name":"日本十進分類法","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"51.1","subitem_subject_scheme":"NDC"}]},"item_4_text_21":{"attribute_name":"出版者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Earthquake Research Institute, University of Tokyo"}]},"item_4_text_4":{"attribute_name":"著者所属","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Research Center for Seismology and Volcanology, Nagoya University"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Tadokoro, Keiichi"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"125788","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2017-06-26"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"IHO78105.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"2MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"IHO78105.pdf","url":"https://repository.dl.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/record/32569/files/IHO78105.pdf"},"version_id":"3139e55d-15c1-4308-9750-d48a600b0111"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"fracture zone","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"physical property","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"fault behavior","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"shear-wave splitting","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"induced earthquak","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Structure and Physical Properties of Fracture Zone Derived From Seismic Observations at the Nojima Fault and the Western Tottori Earthquake Fault, Japan","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Structure and Physical Properties of Fracture Zone Derived From Seismic Observations at the Nojima Fault and the Western Tottori Earthquake Fault, Japan","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"4","owner":"1","path":["4627","4628"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2007-04-23"},"publish_date":"2007-04-23","publish_status":"0","recid":"32569","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Structure and Physical Properties of Fracture Zone Derived From Seismic Observations at the Nojima Fault and the Western Tottori Earthquake Fault, Japan"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2022-12-19T05:38:01.454903+00:00"}
