This is true, especially, when designing linear structures, such as roads, tunnels, and bridges. The purpose of this paper is to examine deformation of model ground, shear zones, and bedrock stress, and to carry out a MDEM simulation and obtain the boundary condition from the results. This paper presents the results of a series of laboratory model tests, in which the effects of reverse dip-slip faults in the bedrock use granular materials set on the subsurface ground.
