In this model, it is assumed that the fault is narrow, the fault distortion is represented by the function h(ξ)=Δh・sin(2πξ/λ) and the slip on the fault is of a ramp function with a time constant τ, where λ is the wave length of the fault distortion, Δh is the amplitude of distortion and ξ is the position of the fault. S wave spectrum by the distored fault is represented as U(ω)=A(ω)・{I1(ω)+I2(ω)}, where I1(ω) is the uniform rupture factor, I2(ω) is the distorted fault factor and A(ω) is the spectrum of time derivative of dislocation function. I2(ω) has a maximum value which is proportional to |Δh・L/λ・sin 2θ| in ω=2π/λ/Φ(Φ=1/Vr-cos 0/β), where θ is the azimuthal angle and Vr is the rupture velocity.
