If the earth is assumed to be composed of a homogeneous rock with an intensity of magnetization 3×10-3 emu/cc, the maximum change of approximately 2γ in total intensity is expected for the cylindrical source of 5km radius being placed at a depth of 14.5km and subjected to an internal pressure of 100 bar.
