The theoretical seismograms thus obtained show similar characteristics with our previous study on a homogeneous sphere, the main features found in the present study being as follows: 1) Free oscillation periods show different features from the case of a homogeneous sphere. Moreover, there exists an extra branch which lies between the fundamental and first higher modes of the case of a homogeneous sphere.
