It was ascertained experimentally that, starting from a dry state, the thermal conductivity increases with water content until its maximum value is attained when water saturates the pore of the sample, and decreases gradually in the oversaturated region. Observed variation of thermal conductivity in the oversaturated region was found to be in agreement with Bullard's model.
