The only way to account for such an anomaly seems to assume a high conducting circuit of roughly elliptical shape, about 200 km and 1000 km in width and length respectively. Both the ends of the circuit are to be connected with the conducting part of the earth's mantle, while a low conducting cut is also required between the connecting points.
