The position of the new crater of Sakura-jima Volcano is situtated on the half-way of the eastern slope of Minami-dake, and exactly on the Taisho fissure line, its height being about 690m above the sea level. The position of the Crater and the margins of the lava flow on March 17, 28, April 3, and 11 respectively are shown in Fig.2. 2. The total volume of lava newly ejected until April 11 is estimated to be about 98,000,000 cubic meters, while its amount of ejection per a day seems to be kept on constantly from March 9 to April 11, as will be shown in Fig.3. Temperature of the surface of the lava flow, which was measured by means of a thermo-junction, amounted to 800°~950℃, while the ccefficient of viscosity was estimated to be about 10^9 c.g.s. 4. The general aspect of moving lava ront of Arimura branch lava flow is showh in Fig.12(photo), while its plane view is given in Fig.4. 5.
