It has been argued in the literature that free choice items have two kinds of readings: universal-like readings and existential-like readings. We observe contexts for the two readings and co-occurrences of modifiers or phrases which cannot be seen in other languages. In addition, we claim that among the modifiers, a concessive marker ii-kara is licensed by ForceP and propose two possible analyses of the position of free choice items with ii-kara. The argument on ii-kara makes it possible to investigate free choice items syntactically by adopting the cartographic approach which associates syntax with pragmatics.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_4_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15083/00039130","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_4_publisher_20":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Tokyo University English Linguistics Association"}]},"item_4_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA10462609","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_4_text_21":{"attribute_name":"出版者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"東京大学英語学研究会"}]},"item_4_text_4":{"attribute_name":"著者所属","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"University of Tokyo"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"Oda, Hiromune"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"91378","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2017-06-14"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"lr029004.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"255.0 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"lr029004.pdf","url":"https://repository.dl.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/record/39139/files/lr029004.pdf"},"version_id":"5aa21bab-d787-4e7f-969e-a4c8ecf93c2d"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"free choice items","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Split CP hypothesis","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"illocutionary force","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"desirability","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"The Distribution of Japanese FCIs and the Left Periphery","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"The Distribution of Japanese FCIs and the Left Periphery"}]},"item_type_id":"4","owner":"1","path":["6526","6525"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2016-01-21"},"publish_date":"2016-01-21","publish_status":"0","recid":"39139","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["The Distribution of Japanese FCIs and the Left Periphery"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":null},"updated":"2022-12-19T04:13:58.215794+00:00"}
