Although the size distribution has been measured widely by electric resistance method using a coulter counter after sample water collection, fragile nature of large sized suspended particles, such as aggregates or flocs, hindered evaluation of in situ particle size distribution. Application of optical technique to measure in situ distribution of marine particles (2.500mm), therefore, has been developed, i.e., small-forward angle scattering of lease beam with interaction of marine particles which follows the Mie theory. Among the instruments based on the above principle, commercially available LISST-100 has been widely used for the studies of sediment transportation near the bottom, dynamics of phytoplankton, and dynamics of suspended particles in the upper ocean. In this review, several examples of LISST-100 applications to coastal waters are introduced, together with some methodological problems associated with types and compositions of suspended particles. For the future studies of suspended particles dynamics in the field, information of structural and biochemical characteristics of marine particles is also crucial in addition to in situ assessment of their size distribution.","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_4_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.15083/00040725","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_4_publisher_20":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"International Coastal Research Center, Ocean Research Institute, the University of Tokyo"}]},"item_4_source_id_10":{"attribute_name":"書誌レコードID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA11957899","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_4_source_id_8":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"13493000","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_4_subject_15":{"attribute_name":"日本十進分類法","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"452","subitem_subject_scheme":"NDC"}]},"item_4_text_21":{"attribute_name":"出版者別名","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"東京大学海洋研究所国際沿岸海洋研究センター"}]},"item_4_text_4":{"attribute_name":"著者所属","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_value":"Ocean Research Institute, University of Tokyo"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"KOIKE, Isao"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"139366","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]},{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"FUKUDA, Hideki"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"139367","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2017-06-27"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"CMS310101.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"535.0 kB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"CMS310101.pdf","url":"https://repository.dl.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/record/40734/files/CMS310101.pdf"},"version_id":"909df456-d2ba-414d-84ef-986c46d102d1"}]},"item_keyword":{"attribute_name":"キーワード","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_subject":"Particulate organic matter (POM)","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Marine snow","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Settling particles","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"LISST-100","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Optical particle sizing technique","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Laser diffraction","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Light scattering","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"},{"subitem_subject":"Material cycle","subitem_subject_scheme":"Other"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Mini-review: Assessment of size distribution of suspended particles in coastal and estuarine environments usin in situ instruments","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Mini-review: Assessment of size distribution of suspended particles in coastal and estuarine environments usin in situ instruments"}]},"item_type_id":"4","owner":"1","path":["7199","7197"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2008-10-17"},"publish_date":"2008-10-17","publish_status":"0","recid":"40734","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Mini-review: Assessment of size distribution of suspended particles in coastal and estuarine environments usin in situ instruments"],"weko_creator_id":"1","weko_shared_id":null},"updated":"2022-12-19T04:16:19.950263+00:00"}
