Since the 1921 publication of their transliterations in TochSprR(A), interpretations of these two fragments have never been offered, although some passages from the latter fragment have been quoted in previous studies in Tocharian grammar. Despite the gaps in some akṣaras between the two fragments, their identification as the Mahādevasūtra confirms that they belong to one and the same folio of the manuscript tentatively entitled the Saundaranandacaritanāṭaka in Tocharian philology. This fact has been unknown to the scholars of this field.\n The present author offers revised transliterations of A128 and A130 and identifies lines a1-b2 of the folio restored from these two fragments as part of the Mahādevasūtra mainly on the basis of the Makhādevasutta in the Majjhimanikāya and the Daitian nailinjing in the Chinese Madhyamāgama. The absence of a counterpart in the Mahādevasūtra for the text of lines b3-6 of this folio leads us to suppose that the Mahādevasūtra would have been inserted in the story narrated in this manuscript. In addition, it is noteworthy that the Mahādevasūtra quoted in this Tocharian A manuscript agrees with the tradition transmitted in the Bhaiṣajyavastu of the Mūlasarvāstivādins which itself was quoted from the Madhyamāgama of this school as suggested by the fact that the hero and his descendants call themselves Mahādeva in this story.
