The present paper describes this type of possessive sentence as denoting a relationship between the subject referent (X) and a series of events (Y) included in the semantic frame evoked by the object noun phrase, specifically a relationship where X ought to participate in Y, in view of some kind of norm. For instance, if the subject I is a student, the sentence refers to the relationship where I ought to participate in a series of events included in the semantic frame evoked by the object school (e.g. go to school, attend classes), in view of the norm that a student should go to school on a school day. The same analysis applies to cases where a rule set by the subject referent (maxim) is involved and where the object noun phrase is a proper noun.
