Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 4 teachers, 4 high school students, 5 high school graduates from 3 Brazilian schools in Japan. Brazilian school students used to return to Brazil after graduating from high school to enroll in higher education. However, in the past few years, the students’ perspectives on career has changed and more students are staying in Japan after graduating from high school.
