Photoluminescence microscopy and excitation spectroscopy are used to identify individual nanotubes and to determine their chiralities. Under an application of gate voltage, we observe slight blueshifts in the emission energy. In addition, we find that the photoluminescence intensity decreases exponentially with gate voltage.
