| 内容記述 | 1990年代初頭から日本経済が長期にわたって低迷するようになった最大の原因は,本来,投資主体であるはずの企業部門が貯蓄主体となった点に求めることができる.日本企業は,なぜ,投資を抑制するようになったのだろうか.この問いに答えるためには,準備作業として,日本企業がかつて活発に設備投資を行っていた時代に作用していたメカニズムを明らかにしなければならない.本稿は,その準備作業に当るものである.本稿の課題は,高度経済成長期の日本企業で作用した「投資促進メカニズム」の実態を解明すること,つまり,日本企業が当該期に活発な設備投資をいかに展開したか,なぜ展開したかを明らかにすることにある.まず,第2章で,第2次大戦後の日本における経済成長と設備投資との関係を概観し,高度成長期における民間設備投資の産業別動向を検討する.次に,第3章では,高度成長期に大規模な設備投資が行われた三つの産業(電力業・鉄鋼業・石油化学工業)を取り上げ,各業界における設備投資競争の実態を明らかにする.さらに,第4章では,前章での検討をふまえて,高度成長期に設備投資競争を促進した日本特有の要因について考察する.最後の第5章では,石油危機以降の日本における経済成長と設備投資との関係について言及する. | |||||

| 内容記述 | This paper mainly discusses how plant and equipment investment actively expanded during the high economic growth era from the middle of the 1950s to the beginning of the 1970s in Japan. Based on case studies on competition for plant and equipment investment in the three major industries ; electric power, steel, and petrochemical, this paper makes clear factors peculiar to Japan in promoting the competition for investment, those are (1) labor-management relationships supporting capital investment, (2) complementary role of the government, (3) complementary functions of company groups, and (4) competition conducted to follow the crowd.. The most important massage of the paper is that to revitalize plant and equipment investment warrants revival of the Japanese economy from the current dire situations. | |||||
