内容記述 | This article deals with the social security reform in Latin America in the 1990s. After describing the characteristics of the Latin American social security system before the 1980s and the primary factors leading to its formation, it explains the outline of the social security reform in the 1990s, whose core were the incorporation of the private sector into the former public social insurance system and the introduction of market principles into social security policy. However, there has not been a complete change in the Latin American social security system to a market model. The political and economic factors, both internal and external, that promoted social security reform in the 1990s are discussed. | |||||
