| 内容記述 | 「カキ料理は、広島が本場だ」「この芝居は、洋子が主役だ」のような「X は、Y がZ だ」という形の文はカキ料理構文と呼ばれる。この構文に関して、Z の位置の名詞が非飽和名詞（「〜の」という要素（パラメータ）を意味的に要求する名詞）であり、X がそのパラメータである場合に限り成立するとする西山（1990, 2003）の説が影響力を持ってきた。しかし反例も多く指摘されている。本論文は認知文法の立場から、この構文の意味的特徴と、非飽和名詞と呼ばれてきた名詞の性質を考察するものである。あるものを介して別のものにアクセスする能力を参照点能力という。本論文では、カキ料理構文においてトピックX が「Y がZ だ」の表す事柄への参照点となっており、文全体は、X からアクセス可能な知識領域において限定的に成り立つものとして「Y がZ だ」の表す事柄を提示するものであると主張する。非飽和名詞と呼ばれてきたものはフレームの中の役割を指すという共通点を持つため、X がフレームの事例を特定する手がかりとして働いていると考えれば、この種の名詞がカキ料理構文ときわめて相性が良いことを説明できる。また、西山自身が「例外」として挙げている（幼い子供が何かをヴァイオリンに見立てている状況を指して）「洋子は、これがヴァイオリンだ」という事例は、他者の視座を参照点としてその信念内容を述べるものと分析することができる。このように考えることで、例外的な事例も上記の一般化により統一的な説明を与えられることを示す。 | |||||||||||||

| 内容記述 | This paper is intended to provide insight into what is known in Japanese linguistics as the kaki-ryoori (oyster dish) construction, so called because of its most famous example commonly glossed as [oyster.dishes TOP Hiroshima NOM best.place COP] (As for oyster dishes, Hiroshima is the best place), by examining from the viewpoint of Cognitive Grammar the semantic structure of this construction in relation to the semantics of the category of nouns that occur in the predicate position of its copular clause. Nishiyama (1990, 2003) argues that the position in question can be filled only by what he calls “unsaturated nouns,” each of which requires a parameter to be specified by the topic noun phrase. Though influential, this generalization is known to be subject to a number of counterexamples. We maintain that the topic in this construction serves as a reference point that affords mental access to the proposition expressed by the following copular clause, the function of the whole construction being to present the proposition as being true only in the domain of knowledge (referred to as “frame” in this paper) accessible via the topic. Coupled with our analysis of “unsaturated nouns” as designating roles in the frames they evoke, this reference-point account allows us to explain why nouns of this type are especially favored by the kaki-ryoori construction by viewing its topic as serving to help determine how the relevant frame is instantiated. It also has the advantage of being able to account for why a sentence like “Yooko wa kore ga baiorin da” [Yooko TOP this NOM violin COP], which Nishiyama cites as a counterexample to his analysis, is acceptable (provided that it is used in reference to a situation where a young child likens something as a violin), by analyzing it as adopting as a reference point the child’s perspective, from which the propositional content is viewed. | |||||||||||||
