While school regulations have attracted much attention recently in Japan, there are few studies that have elucidated their actual conditions. In this paper, as a case study of public high schools in Saitama Prefecture, Japan, we analyze the contents of school regulations and examine the differences of school regulations among schools. The results showed that the contents of the school regulations differed depending on the location of the school, the level of selectivity of admission and so on. In addition, the results suggest that the school regulations may reflect the operational issues of each school and external environment of each historic period. |
