| 内容記述 | 山本 (2020) は、翻訳研究における「直訳」と「意訳」の対立による従来の枠組みを批判し、翻訳とは筆者が思い描いた「意味空間」を再現し、起点テクストの意味作用を目標言語で創造する行為であるべきだと主張している。本稿では「意味空間」について、Jakobson (1959/2004) やNida (1964, 1969)が提唱する「等価equivalence」の概念との比較を通じて、詳細な検討を加える。また、古田 (2016) の〈しっくりくる言葉〉を選ぶ行為と「意味空間」の関わりについても検討する。「意味空間」を想定することにより、意味か形式かという対立から逃れ、より包括的な翻訳理論への展望を考えたい。 | |||||||||

| 内容記述 | Yamamoto (2016) criticizes the continuous debate of whether translations should be literal (word-for-word) or free (sense-for-sense). Instead, he introduces a concept of “Imi-kukan” where the translator attempts to reconstruct the world that the author had in their mind through its translation. This paper will examine the concept of “Imi-kukan” through comparing it with the equivalence theory of Jakobson (1959/2004) and Nida (1964, 1969). Further, it will discuss the relevance to Furuta’s (2018) discussion on “the act of trying to find the right words”. By adopting the idea of “Imi-kukan”, the process of translation can be considered as a universal act of articulating what the text means. | |||||||||
